Description
We are a colorful hostel with a spacious green garden and an on-site restaurant, situated in the heart of Cat Ba Island in the northern region of Vietnam. We work with both local staff and volunteers. Recently, we have undergone renovations, and now our restaurant, bar, and hostel are welcoming travelers from all around the world.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be an integral part of our hostel team and will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge and experience in all facets of hostel management. After work, you can hang out with other volunteers and you have the chance to immerse yourself in Vietnamese island life, and we will be happy to show you the most popular attractions.
Help
We are currently seeking assistance from carpenters, builders, artists (particularly those interested in creating murals), musicians, individuals skilled in social media management, or anyone with a unique talent to offer. Alternatively, if you are simply enthusiastic about lending a hand, we welcome your support as well. We are open to hearing about how you can contribute to our team.
We have 20 local staff working now; kitchen, reception, housekeeping, waiter/waitress, maintenance, cleaning, and barman.
Languages
- Spoken Languages: English (Fluent) and Vietnamese (Fluent)
- Language exchange: I am interested in learning more English and other languages where possible! I am more than happy to share my language with you in exchange. Hopefully, we can learn from one another!
Accommodation
During your stay, you will be accommodated in a 4-bed staff dormitory. Your package includes complimentary coffee, tea, lunch, and dinner, along with one daily drink. Additionally, when not in use by guests, you are welcome to utilize one of our motorbikes for transportation. Laundry facilities are available on-site for your convenience at no extra cost.
What else …
The island offers a variety of activities such as kayaking, boat tours in Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay, trekking in the national park, beach relaxation, yoga sessions, night kayaking to witness glowing plankton, and the opportunity to admire the stunning karststone landscape. We can assist in arranging transportation to our location. We have 20 local staff working here. Their job roles range from bartenders to kitchen staff, receptionists to waitresses.

Can host digital nomads
We have plenty of space for digital nomads here at the Secret Graden Hostel. We have a seated dining area with tables, perfect for work, as well as a strong wifi connection and charging ports accessible in multiple areas.
Can accept pets
We welcome pets here. However, I must add that we already have a dog on site called Lily… as well as a few cats. So, your pet must be okay with being around other furry friends!
